In the age of social media, sellers have seen greater openness from customers who now more openly share opinions, ratings, and feedback with their peers and companies they do business with.
Many successful consumer brands have relied on consumers for not just marketing but also product creation and crowdsourcing but this type of innovation isn’t often seen in the B2B space.
Quill.com is trying to change that with Quill Ideas, a crowdsourcing platform that aims to revolutionize the way Quill solicits, evaluates and implements ideas to serve customers. A site will launch within Quill.com that will let both customers and employees submit and evaluate new ideas for our business. Ideas that gain traction within the community will be systematically brought to the relevant executives and evaluated regularly by a dedicated innovations team.
“The result, we hope, will be a sustainable flow of ideas, as well as a closer relationship with customers who will have a greater say in how we serve them,” says Sergio Pereira, president of Quill.com, the business-to-business division of Staples Inc. that serves small to mid-size companies.
