eCommerce solutions platform Digital River announced a new partnership with commercetools, integrating Digital River’s services of tax, payments, compliance and fraud mitigation into commercetools’ eCommerce platform for B2C and B2B customers, according to a company press release on Tuesday (July 12).
Through the collaboration, Digital River clients can utilize commercetools’ headless API approach combined with Digital River’s expertise in the back-office global commerce. The integration will allow brands to scale their eCommerce businesses to over 240 markets around the world.
“Our mutual clients benefit from the performance and certainty that comes with a certified technical integration,” said Christopher C. Holley, global direction, independent software vendor partnerships at commercetools, in the joint press release. “This ‘best of breed’ approach to eCommerce implementation allows Digital River’s capabilities to seamlessly integrate with the industry’s leading eCommerce platform.”
Digital River takes on the financial and legal responsibilities of selling online, allowing brands using commercetools to focus on crafting better customer journeys, growing revenue, consolidating vendors, optimizing revenue to increase conversion rates and reducing fraud risks.

Earlier this month, Mike French, vice president of partnerships and alliances at Digital River, told PYMNTS if you’re not diversified, watch out.
Saying that making “more granular decisions more frequently” is a strategy fitted to down economies, French noted that “the other thing that I see successful brands do is another old adage, it’s about diversification.”
