Former Amazon executive Maria Renz is leaving her SoFi position as executive vice president of consumer finance and wealth management to take the role of senior vice president of North America for food delivery startup Gopuff, according to a press release on Friday (April 15).
Renz was with Amazon for 20 years, serving as vice president of delivery experience and vice president and technical advisor to the CEO. At SoFi, Renz led credit card, brokerage and bank-account businesses.
“I am excited and humbled to announce that I will be joining Gopuff as Senior Vice President of North America. I am a big believer in listening to customers and harnessing the power of technology to deliver novel products and innovative solutions to get them what they want, when they want it,” Renz said in a LinkedIn post.
“Because of its relentless focus on customers and best-in-class delivery technology, Gopuff is leading the industry and redefining how consumers are shopping today and in the future,” Renz added.

In this new leadership role, Renz will oversee Gopuff’s strategy and execution in the U.S. as the company continues working to expand its footprint across markets. She will take on the role at Gopuff in May and report directly to co-founders and co-CEOs Rafael IIishayev and Yakir Gola.
“Maria has an incredible track record of successfully leading cross-functional teams, strategically executing on new initiatives and constantly innovating,” said Gopuff co-CEO and co-founder Yakir Gola.
Gola added that they are confident Renz will “take the reins” and lead the firm as it grows and becomes a “truly global leader with a local focus.”
