Digital workflow company ServiceNow unveiled its latest automation solutions.
The solutions, part of the Now Platform Vancouver release, aim to address the needs of businesses across industries by enhancing security and governance, simplifying critical processes, and accelerating talent transformation through the use of generative artificial intelligence (AI), the company said in a Wednesday (Sept. 20) press release.
One of the challenges businesses face is managing operational and security risks while maintaining agility, according to the release. ServiceNow has expanded its security portfolio, enabling organizations to streamline incident identification and management, gain an enterprise-wide view of critical risks, and protect confidential data with native platform encryption.
The Vancouver release also introduces ServiceNow Zero Trust Access, a feature that helps customers establish a zero-trust framework for the Now Platform, the release said. This feature ensures user access is safeguarded based on various risk parameters, expanding the network of authorized users while protecting customer and proprietary data.
ServiceNow also expanded Third-Party Risk Management to serve employees in more departments and industries, offering a holistic approach to risk management, per the release.
Open-source software has become prevalent in application development, but it can introduce security risks, according to the release. ServiceNow addresses this concern by introducing Software Bill of Materials (SBOM) management, allowing customers to gain insights into software components inventory, assess security risks and drive response workflows.
Simplifying mission-critical processes and unlocking value through intelligent automation is another focus of the Vancouver release, the release said. ServiceNow enables organizations to automate manual processes. For instance, the new Clinical Device Management (CDM) solution simplifies the management of healthcare devices, automating upkeep and maintenance tasks to improve patient safety and care. Accounts Payable Operations (APO) automates the accounts payable process, reducing manual process costs by up to 80% through automation.
Recognizing the growing skills shortage and the demand for continuous learning among employees, ServiceNow has introduced Employee Growth and Development (EGD) in the Vancouver release, per the release. The AI-powered solution collects, validates and continuously updates employee skills data. It also empowers employees to define career aspirations and explore career options.
The foundational generative AI powering today’s most advanced platforms has the potential to free up swaths of human work hours, PYMNTS reported Monday (Sept. 18). The technology has the potential to reshape major economic drivers by transforming how people communicate with their computers.
