Don’t you love surprises in your entertainment? We do. Be it a science fiction series on Netflix, a murder mystery on Amazon Prime or our Marvel favorites on Disney+.
What’s going to happen next? It’s called a “cliffhanger” — but we won’t keep you hanging.
PYMNTS’ latest Provider Ranking of Streaming Apps contains a few chills and spills that will send the popcorn flying, so put down the popcorn or get out the vacuum.
Here we go.
The Top 5
When our upgrade is complete, trumpets will sound whenever this happens: There’s a new No. 1 — and it’s YouTube, rising a spot to survey the world from on high.
Perhaps not as excited about that is Netflix, dropping one spot to No. 2.
The mouse is still in the house at No. 3 as Disney+ holds its magical ground.
We’ll see what’s what after this Neil Young thing runs its course. For now, Spotify holds at No. 4.
Did we say something earlier about surprises?
If YouTube hitting No. 1 didn’t do it for you, how about the Pluto TV app breaking into the Top 5 at No. 5? Welcome to the club. Don’t touch anything in the fridge labeled “Amazon.”
The Top 10
Speaking of the house Bezos built, Amazon Prime Video drops out of the Top 5 to No. 6.
Hulu stays cool-oo at No. 7 for another cycle.
Same can be said for Amazon Music, clocking in at No. 8 for another month.
As we said last time, we’re not certain about how it fits into the Paramount+ strategy, but the CBS — Full Episodes And Live TV app charts for another month at No. 9.
Not to be forgotten are the gamers, keeping the Twitch app on these ranking month after month, this time at No. 10 like last time.
That’s a wrap. Catch you at the next Provider Ranking of Streaming Apps.
