New PYMNTS Data Shows SMBs Adapting To Wage Hikes, Economic Change Small businesses are rising up in the face of adversity, with the average company offering wages that are 10 percent higher than they were pre-pandemic. In the latest Main Street Merchant Index, PYMNTS analyzed three key metrics to gauge the road ahead for this small but critical slice of the economy.
