Online art gallery DeviantArt announced the debut of a new subscription service which connects artists with their fans, allowing for sharing of one-of-a-kind art, according to a Thursday (Oct. 21) press release.
The subscription service follows the online art community’s recently launched online art protection service and new offers with Wix and BitPay. DeviantArt strives to provide a digital community where artists, including photographers, digital artists, designers, and storytellers of all mediums can not only share their work, but also earn money, according to the announcement.
The subscription service is limited to Core Members and enables artists to share exclusive content with their fans, while earning a monthly income and expanding their audience directly from the platform.
In addition to showcasing never-before-seen art or photographs, creators can offer tutorial videos, and journals outlining their up-and-coming projects, among other creations.
As part of the subscription plan, creators can craft subscription tiers and relevant offerings. DeviantArt is also launching Core Membership plans with fees between 2.5% to 12%, according to the announcement.
DeviantArt has recently integrated BitPay as a new payment procession choice, allowing creators to cash out their earning in bitcoin, Dogecoin and other cryptocurrencies, according to the release.

Besides the DeviantArt subscription-based service, artists of late have been cashing in on their art through the creation of limited-edition works of art, as well as videos and more via non-fungible tokens (NFT). NFTs are digital assets created to showcase various artistic items, such as videos, photos, music, and games. Last week, Visa launched a collaborative effort with Micah Johnson, the former second baseman and outfielder for the White Sox, Dodgers, Braves and Rays, in developing a program to support artists in the creation of NFTs.
