Global supply chain solutions company AIT Worldwide Logistics recently relocated its Cincinnati-area transportation logistics team to a larger location to accommodate the company’s growth, according to a company press release Monday (March 14).

“This new facility enhances our ability to serve customers more efficiently,” said AIT’s Vice President, Americas, Ryan Carter, in the press release. “It greatly expands the warehouse footprint, which optimizes the flow and presentation of cargo, ultimately improving our customers’ speed to market.”

The new AIT-Cincinnati location has 12 dock doors, one drive-in and 74,000 square feet of warehouse space, according to the announcement.

AIT Director of Operations, East Region, Ryan Carter noted the new building is less than two miles away from the team’s previous location. It’s also close to southern Ohio distribution centers.

“This new Cincinnati location will support AIT’s mission to deliver world-class service,” Sims said.

AIT offers domestic ground distribution, warehouse management and white glove final-mile delivery services across the eCommerce, retail and residential delivery industries. The Cincinnati team primarily houses bulky products, including swimming pools and high-end furniture, that don’t fit in with the scope defined by the major parcel carriers. It also offers same-day turnaround for dozens of truckloads a week.

Last week, CNBC reported that Amazon acquired Veeqo, an eCommerce software company that makes tools to help online businesses sell products on and off Amazon, in November, but did not publicize the deal.

The Veeqo acquisition could allow Amazon to integrate additional seller tools into its Multi-Channel Fulfillment program, which lets sellers store and ship products using Amazon’s services regardless of whether they’re selling on the home site, the report said.
